Be Well Prepared for Clinical Exams
Whether for a mammogram, ultrasound or fluoroscopy procedure, it is essential that you follow the preparation instructions for medical exams. This will ensure that we are offering you our best service.
Exams Offered by our Clinics
For all exams, remember to bring your prescription
as well as your health insurance card.
General Radiology
This exam is done without an appointment and no preparation is necessary. For any abdominal or pelvic exam, it is best that you urinate beforehand.
Mammography
Bring films or CD’s of previous exams (previous 2 mammograms). Do not apply antiperspirant or body cream the day of the exam.
Breast ultrasound
Bring the images and reports from the last exam if it was done at another medical establishment.
Pelvic Ultrasound
Drink 500 ml of water one hour before the exam and do not urinate after.
Abdominal Ultrasound
Do not eat or drink anything the night before the exam. Do not eat or drink anything 6 hours before the exam if it is scheduled for the afternoon (nothing fatty: light breakfast!).
Échographie prostatique
Vous devez effectuer un lavement Fleet 1h30 avant l’examen.
Osteodensitometry
If you must undergo other exams during the same period, allow some time to pass between these and the bone density test.
Arthrography
X-ray images of the region within the last 3 months are required.

Barium Swallow
Fast after 9:00 p.m. the night before the exam; this includes no drinking, chewing gum or smoking.
Thyroid Biopsy (Puncture)
If you are taking anticoagulants (Aspirin, Coumadin, Entrophen, Plavix, Sintrom), you must stop taking them 7 days preceding the exam.
